Section 1 – Introduction

1.a • Changing the rules, in the spirit of the game

According to „Managing changes to the Laws” chapter of the „Laws of the Game 2018-19”, the IFAB (International Football Association Board), it must be convinced that the changes made will benefit this sport.IFAB is constantly concerned with improving the rules of the game for:
„ • Fairness and integrity • will the proposed change strengthen the game’s fairness and integrity on the field of play?
Universality and inclusion • will the proposed change benefit football at all levels throughout the world? • will the proposed change encourage more people from all backgrounds and abilities to take part in and enjoy football?
The growth of technology • will the proposed change have a positive impact on the game?”

The proposals for changes presented in this project, validate the directions desired by IFAB, aim at improving the quality of the game, safety and fairness, increasing the participants’ satisfaction – both players and spectators.

These proposals aim to increase the interest in football, the number of practitioners and, implicitly, the widest possible spread and loyalty among spectators (resulting in an increase in advertising and broadcasting rights revenues).

While maintaining the defining feature of football – the ease of understanding and assimilation of game rules.

Football gives you the chance to choose to get full maturity. No matter what position you are engaging in this huge world of the round-ball game. Maturity is achieved through a continuous practice of fairness, both in the game and outside the field.

You can have a life as conscious as possible! It depends only on you which way you choose! The joy of the present or the fears of the past and the anxieties of the future?

It’s not about the others. It only matters how much and how you dedicate yourself to your passion. Passion to support it and better fit in this particular universe. Like any other area that makes you feel alive. Choose football!

1.b • List of Changes and New Proposed Rules (short details):

Changing the way of awarding victory after a drawn match, instead of penalty kicks through an alternate series of „3-2-1” quick game sessions (3 players of the attacking team, against 2 players + 1 goalkeeper of the defending team), / details in section 2,

Changes in the regulation to increase attractiveness, game dynamics and spectacularity, therefore the number of loyal practitioners and spectators
– rewarding with additional points in the ranking for a certain number of goals scored,
– insertion of alternative series of „3-2-1” quick game sessions during the game in case of equality on the score table,
/ details in section 3,

Measures to improve players’ „fair play” and the safety of the football game
temporary elimination of players for any yellow card offense,
declaration of passive play offense and loss of possession if the ball does not pass within a specified time, by the 16-meter (or half of the opposing team’s ground) demarcation line of the adverse team’s field,
– protecting possession for players in their own half field,
sanctioning through „3-2-1” quick game sessions, awarded to the opposing team for each yellow or red card, respectively for the cumulative offense of the same team or player for which no card is given,  / details in section 4,

Section 2 – A new way to decide the winning team after a drawn match, instead of penalty kicks. Arguments for change

2.a • Recognizing the best. A way to bring together the most valuable players (MVP)

From time to time, in the history of humanity, the armies aligned face to face on the battlefield. Guided by wise leaders, they convened to send in a brief but bloody confrontation, a small but equal number of the most accomplished knights, to decide the battle’s fate.

Fearless warriors wore unruly duels, sacrificing themselves in the name of the cause and the nation they represented. Saving the lives of thousands of fighters on each side. In a perfect „fair play”, the „defeated” side accepts the surrender conditions previously discussed by the rulers. Without unnecessary bloodshed.

Similar to the selection of „round-table knights”, situations of equality from the elimination stages of the competitions, can be solved by choosing two „round balloon knights” mini-teams, to decide victory through quick game sessions that alternate the attack and defense.

2.b • Inspirational sources from other sports, to decide the winning team after a drawn match

Execution of hockey penalty shootout, known as the Breakaway Relay, could inspire the equal finals football (soccer) matches. One of the hockey players starts from the center of the field, guiding the puck with the stick, pointing to the opponent’s goal. The goaltender is free to meet him. By dribbling, the hockey player can overtake or hit the goal from any distance.

Similar to hockey, instead of static penalty shootout, not one but three players will leave the middle of the field to the opponent’s goal, where they will face the same number of players (2 defenders + 1 goalkeeper).

All team sports game strategies seek to create a numerical zonal superiority in order to put a player in favorable situations to score.

The „3-2-1” quick game sessions offers an advantage from the beginning to the attacking team, which often occurs during the game, especially in counter-attacking moments.

It is a moment of play that is definitely part of the training of any football club, from youth to the most famous teams.

2.c • Discontent with current method of penalty kicks

Matches that are decided by the penalties, they lack something. From any perspective you choose to look. As supporter of the winning or defeated team, even just passionate spectators of this sport.

„Victory is not full, defeat is not worth it… It’s all just a lottery!” •
The recent „World Football Championship in Russia 2o18” reconfirms it.

The penalty kicks make a steep pass from strategies and stages of the attack, during the game, to the extremely short time required for the ball to pass the distance from the penalty mark to the goal net. And that, if the „hazard” agrees!

None of those involved in this sport are fully satisfied that the penalty kicks to decide the winning team. Of all, the most dissatisfied, those who suffer the most with the players, are the spectators from the stands and those in front of the TVs.

Unfortunately, without an alternative solution that you can refer to, you can not make a comparison that will allow you to choose the best option.
Paraphrasing Steve Jobs’s statement: „It’s not the client’s job to know what he wants …”, we can say: „Anyone can fulfill their dreams, when you suggest them what they can dream …”

2.d • A natural solution, assumed by players and supporters, that does not create frustration. Psychological explanation

The joy of the passionate football public should not be shaded in any way.
The spectators should fully taste the victory of the favorite team, which they can think of without doubt, without any adverse supporters being able to challenge it as just the result of the hazard.

Also, the same passionate public should consider defeat as a natural consequence of the fact that the players of the opposing team were better. They can accept assuming defeat with „fair play”, both them and the players, without making them a tragedy (see recent reproaches and threats by supporters to Colombian players – from C.M. Russia 2o18).

Even if it is called „king of sports” –  „Football (Soccer)”, like all things, it is a universe in constant transformation.

Anyone who loved this sport experienced a state of dissatisfaction when his favorite team was eliminated from a penalty kicks. That’s why it’s probably time for an alternative solution. More dynamic, more spectacular and less frustrating for either team.

A method that really tilts the balance of victory on the side of the best team. To validate and highlight players’ individual qualities and the most cohesive way of teamwork. A way that brings in front of the audience, the most appreciated players of each team, thus crowning the sport show.

2.e • In resonance with the most positive energy flows. Removing negative connotations

The expression „penalty kicks” to decide the winner team at the end of the game, includes the term „punishment”, being inappropriate for this moment of play. The penalty kicks is valid only during the match, following the offenses committed in the penalty area.

The name of the moment of the game’s final, should define the satisfaction of those who can demonstrate their superiority through the game.
Certainly it will be one of the terms, or the combination of the most representative ones, to validate the name of final campaign: „3-2-1” „session” „+1” „quick play” „victory march” „advantage”, etc… I invite you to free your imagination.

Bringing in front of the audience the most valuable players (MVP) in „3-2-1” quick game sessions, will generate enthusiasm and a moody positive energy among spectators of the whole stadium (counting in chorus the remaining seconds, „waves” and so on…).

• PLAYING RULE – „3-2-1 March of Victory” Quick Game Session Campaign (3 players of the attacking team, against 2 players + 1 goalkeeper of the defending team)

a. • Number of players
– Each team will participate in „3-2-1” quick game sessions with an equal number – 3 players on each side,
– only their distribution differs – 3 players for the attacking team, respectively 2 players + 1 goalkeeper for the defending team,
– depending on the optimal variant, it will be possible to choose for 2 against (1 + 1), 3 against (2 + 1) or 4 against (3 + 1) players (in future competitions special dedicated to testing this moment of play, evaluating the dynamics and spectacularity),
b. • Duration of „3-2-1” quick game sessions
– each session lasts 10-15 seconds (will be tested under real conditions, in competitions specially designed for this moment of play, the optimal duration for game dynamics and spectacularity),
– the attacking team players start the chronometer by kicking the ball from the center of the field, dribbling and kicking at the goal only during that time (exceeding the set time, ending the current session),
c. • Number of „3-2-1” quick game sessions
– each team receives 5 quick sessions (or 3, 7, up to 9 – depending on total duration and spectacularity),
– the team that scores more goals being declared the winner,
– in case of equality at the end of the number of sessions set, victory would be achieved by additional alternative sessions until one of the teams scores and the other misses,
d. • Eligible players
– players with the right to take part in the „3-2-1” quick game sessions are all players who have evolved over the 90 minutes of the game,
– reserve players being also eligible in the number of remaining changes, thus giving the list final eligibility,
– players of each team can be placed in any game formula and replaced after each session, respecting the rule above, regarding eligibility,
e. • The decisive rule of „fair play” behavior
– any behavior lacking “fair play” from the attacking team or the defending team (foul, handball, shirt holding, obstruction, simulation, unsportsmanlike attitude, etc…) leads to the end of the session and awarding the game point to the adverse team,
f. • Scoring the goal and validating the point
– inserting the ball into the goal net in accordance with the rules described above, results in the completion of the „3-2-1” quick game sessions and the validation of the point,
– the point can also be achieved by activating the „fair play” rule,
g. • The End of „3-2-1” quick game sessions
– by exceeding the time allocated to a „3-2-1” quick game sessions,
– removing the ball from the playing area by any player,
– catching the ball by
the goalkeeper (rejecting the ball in the field, allowing the game to continue),
– by activating the decisive „fair play” rule,

*

„3-2-1 march of victory” quick game sessions can successfully replace the current variants used in the drawn match:
– the two rounds of overtime and the „sudden death” rule,
– awarding a team victory through penalty kicks,

Additional gaming rules can be added for dynamization (limitation of the number of passes, the obligation to pass only in front, limiting the number of shots, etc.)

Section 3 – Increasing the attractiveness and dynamics of the game, the number of loyal practitioners and spectators, implicitly of advertising and broadcasting revenue

3.a • Reward with additional points in the ranking for a certain number of goals scored

The show of sporting events gains when the teams show combat, attack the goal and score more goals, giving the game dynamism and spectacularity. So, in order to boost them, teams can be rewarded with extra points for a larger number of goals scored.
The winning team will be rewarded with 1 point in the team rankings for a 4/5 goal scored (2 points for 8/10 goals, etc.)
The defeated team can be rewarded similarly to reach the goal limit, being also rewarded with 1 point if it finishes with a 1 goal difference behind the winning team (but only when the winning team scores a number of goals eligible to receive ranking points).

Imagine the attractiveness of a match, not to mention a whole championship with more goals, and most of the final results are around the “4-3” or “5-4” scores. It does not seem a very difficult condition to fill the stadiums of the world with the lovers of football, respectively to increase the ratings of the sports channels, …

3.b • Very few sports accept equality at the end of the race

As you well know, a significant percentage of football (soccer) matches end in a tie.
Only the “Chess” game has a large number of draws, but still has a special situation:
• first due, to the equal starting value of the white and black parts of the two camps (which is not true in football, the value of the players of the two teams being given by a lot of factors),
• then, due to the different playing force of the pieces and their different way of moving on the board (the limitations of the zonal movement in football are given by the tasks of the game compartments that each evolves, this aspect in no way limiting the ability of the players with „steel lungs”),

The resemblance between the two sports is evident, however, in the extremely reserved and tactical gameplay of the two camps, the fear of defeat leading to a game of exploration and a lot of „saloon draws” (according to the egoistic reasoning „better go out on the ground with forehead as equal, rather than being humiliated by defeat”).

This fear in tackling matches, leads to countless compromises and unfair gaming, without realizing that total dedication raises the player in the eyes of the public, his own team and increases self-esteem, regardless of the result recorded at the end of the match.

In tennis, ping-pong, volleyball, athletics, horseback riding, shooting, motoring, cycling, handball, martial arts, basketball, and so on … there is only one winner. Even when equality is possible, race dynamics and high score points make this result quite rare.

Exceptions but confirming that players and especially spectators want a determined competition with the victory of the players or the favorite teams, and if that does not happen, the satisfaction of the public will come from the proven combativeness, the conviction that the players „gave everything” on the field.

The sporting competitions that create a staggering of the participants (athletics, motoring, horseback riding, cycling, etc.) impress with dynamism. Similar is the case for competitions where athletes or teams alternately take the lead (basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, etc.).

Remember your admiration for the players and the excitement of a match where a team leads with 1-0, the other takes the lead 2-1, then the first one returns to the rush of the game and leads with 3-2 and so on…, being convinced and enjoying combativeness, commitment and dedication in the game.

The dynamics of these sporting competitions is characterized by the pursuit race, the determination to regain the advantage and the desire to overcome the opponent. The pace of the game is much more alert, and the greater the players’ dedication, the higher motivation and the higher risk ability, without an endless thundering of the opponent … as in the annoying matches, concluded in many cases with a „white score”.

3.c • Insertion of „3-2-1” quick game sessions to in certain moments of the match at equal score. Arguments

Increasing the game dynamics of football matches of any type of competition, as outlined above, could also be achieved by choosing one of the following options:

a. Insertion of alternative series of „3-2-1” quick game sessions during the match as follows
If after the first 20 minutes of each 45 minute round, the score table points to an equal score, the match will be interrupted to make room for the „3-2-1” quick game sessions until one of the teams scores, and the other one misses (the interruption time will be proportional to the time needed to start the sessions or the broadcasting of the advertising spots in the case of matches that are the subject of TV sports broadcasts),
if the score is equal at the break, at the beginning of the second half the series of „3-2-1” quick game sessions will be played, until one of the teams breaks to a point,
– in the case of eliminating competitions, after a drawn match, will be played „3-2-1” quick game sessions campaign described in Section 2,

„the quick session insertion moments”

b. Splitting match in 4 rounds. Inserting „3-2-1” quick game sessions after breaks if score table indicate equality
between the 1-2 and 3-4 rounds with playing breaks on the court (5 minutes – enough also for an advertising Tv spot),
the break between the 2nd and 3rd round at locker room (15 minutes), with series of alternative „3-2-1” quick game sessions whenever, at the end of a round, the score table indicates a tie result,
the „3-2-1” quick game sessions series will run at the beginning of the next round at the end of which the draw is recorded after the advertising pause, teams alternating the attack and defense until one of the teams scores and the other misses, after which game will continue with the next round,

Choosing one of the two variants will determine:
increasing the number of goals and the spectacularity of matches by creating a mandatory score difference between the two teams, generating the motivation of the tracking, recovery and overtaking of the adverse team,
lowering the number of draws and eliminating the “0-0”, which is one of the main reasons that removes supporters from the stadiums and front of the TV screens,
increasing the number of loyal viewers, TV ratings, ticket receipts and subscriptions (for stadium seats and TV sports channels),
increase in advertising revenue due to the increased number of advertising video spot between the rounds (by placing immediately after the breaks, before the next round of „3-2-1” quick game sessions in the event of an equal result, making spectators awaiting the resumption of matches).

The insertion of the „3-2-1” quick game sessions in certain moments of play does not permanently eliminate the possibility that matches will end in equality (but much less) in non-eliminatory competitions. The role of these time stamps is to create a score difference for unleashing the gaming energies, providing the guarantee that the sports show benefits from the inclusion of an increased number of goals.

3.d • The advantages and disadvantages of the way to decide the winning team after a drawn match

• Method to decide the winning team by penalty kicks:
Advantages:
Creates intense experiences for spectators, during each penalty, until the winning team is declared,
Disadvantages:
Victory is not full, defeat is not worth it … Everything is just a lottery!
It creates moments of maximum tension, which predispose the players (emotional immature) to confusion and hesitations, implicitly to miss the score,
Creates disappointment and frustration for players and supporters of the defeated teams,

• Breakout method through overtime:
Advantages:
Provides the chance to win by prolonging the existing playing conditions at the end of 90 minutes,
Disadvantages:
It does not create moments of maximum tension and intense living,
Players of the two teams are exhausted after 90 minutes, the sports show suffered, injuries may occur (most players complain of muscle cramps and dehydration),
Establishing the application of the „sudden death” rule (the winning team is determined at the first goal scored) makes the teams play reserved for fear of receiving a goal,

• The „3-2-1 march of victory” quick game sessions method, inserted in various moments of the game (during the match, at the end of the rounds or as the final campaign)::
Advantages:
It creates positive states of intense experience, throughout the duration of each session,
Brings together in a decisive contest, the most valuable players of each team,
Increases cohesion between supporters (the stadium fans’ choir seems to be heard counting together the remaining seconds while they are making „waves”!)
Reduces the frustration of players and supporters of the defeated team (convinced of the correctness of the result),
Raises to a higher level the notion of „fair play”, never seen before on football grounds,
Diminishes the number of rough fouls, obstructions, time draws and repeated passes to preserve a favorable result,
Eliminates the score of „0-0”, so difficult to digest compared to sporting competitions in which the alternation of the attack phases ends with countless goals,
Increases the number of goals scored, this being the attractiveness factor and one of the main motivations for the spectator,
Increases the number of loyal spectators, due to the dynamics of the game, the spectacularity and the easier acceptance of the final result,
Promises young people to choose a way to mature as enjoyable as possible through sport, to meet with the highest self-confidence any living situation,
Provides consistent support for sales in the related fields (sports equipment, media and advertising, video & audio & communications technology, hotels and restaurants, transport and telecommunications, etc…)
Disadvantages:
Some teams will create special buying tactics (bravo and congratulations!), for the transfer of very technical and fast players, and keeping them up for use in the „3-2-1” quick game sessions,
It favors „domestic competitions” for remote control… 😀

3.e • Using acoustic signals associated with playing moments

Acoustic signals emitted through the audio system of the stadium or generated by the radio and tv studios, can be associated with familiar melodies themes, such as: player replacement, announcement of breaks, giving cards, various types of offenses and playing moments – corners, throws, fouls, handball, offside, and so on… , clarifying for whoever needs, the significance of the acoustic signal given by the referee’s whistle. (examples: the moments preceding the „3-2-1” quick game sessions could be illustrated by a few notes with the musical theme „It’s the final cowntdown”, etc.)

Everyone in the stadium, as well as viewers in front of TVs, will more easily identify the moments of play. It is a practice commonly used in other sports. A measure useful to all, the more useful to people with visual impairments and hearing. So, even during the comments of radio or TV broadcasters, they will be able to better identify the moments of playing, through the background sound.

Section 4 – Ways to Increase Game Safety

4.a • Measures to increase player fairness
„3-2-1” quick game sessions – will be awarded for:
– campaign to award the winner team after drawn match,
– offenses committed outside the penalty area,
– every yellow or red card shown by the referee,
– committing 5 cumulative offenses of the same team (for which no cards are given),
– each 2nd offense committed by the same player (for which no cards are given),

Penalties (11 meters) – will be awarded exclusively for:

– offenses committed in the penalty area,

Temporary 15 minute elimination for:

– any yellow card offense (“Laws of the Game 2018-19” show IFAB’s concern about the “Temporary dismissal area” rule, a measure that could replace the yellow card)

Passive play and loss of possession
– declare the passive play offense and loss of possession if the ball is not shot at the goal or does not exceed in 15-20 seconds successive passes, the 16-meter line or the midfield line of the opposing team’s court (the measure will increase the number of goal phases),

Protecting ball possession for players in their own half field – when the ball was received from a teammate

– no player shall be allowed to attack the ball in possession of an opponent in his own half of the field, when he has received the ball from a team mate,
– has the right to intercept any pass between opponents, who are more than 2 meters away from each other,

The last two cumulative measures – the passive play rule and the protection of the possession of the ball in its own half-field – in addition to reducing the number of injuries, have a decisive role in preserving physical resources of the players, so the game will be more dynamic, accounting much more goal phases.

An important aspect is to increase the quality of the game by dramatically reducing obstruction and harsh physical contacts between players in the middle of the field, where the ball remains very long in the current playing conditions.

Similar situations to the above rules exist in various other sports:
– rugby – protecting ground possession of the ball in the ruck,
– handball and basketball – passive play rule.

In these last two listed sports – handball and basketball – the game in the middle of the field is almost inexistent, the protection of the possession being evident due to the fact that for a short time (without committing any offense – hold and steps) the ball can be protected with both hands, which in football is not possible (except for the goalkeeper). The soccer ball in front of the player is an invitation to be attacked and disposed by the ball.

It is clear that the passive play rule completes the rule of protecting the possession, forcing the players in possession of the ball to attack in the adversary field. They can not pass the ball between themselves indefinitely in their own half field to maintain a favorable result, risking punishment for passive play and loss of possession.

4.b • Under the sign of „fair play” behavior

It is obvious that football is a physical engagement sport that does not exclude physical contact. Nothing justifies the hardness of the fouls leading to injuries and loss of play for good minutes during the match, or the physical inability of players to play for several stages of the championship. Many other sports can be inspirational. Demonstrating special attention to increasing spectacularly, dynamics and fairness.

The situations described below can be converted by the correct behavior in effective playing time:
lost time when the ball was replaced after committing an ofensses,
the time spent on providing the medical care and the necessary time for players physical restoration to return to the form of play after a tough contact,
• time lost through repeated passes of the ball between players without showing any offensive intention, with the obvious purpose of maintaining a favorable result, etc…

It should be exemplary penalized, any unsportsmanlike intervention to stop an opponent escaped alone with the ball to the goal. It is one of the situations of the game that can cause serious injuries. The measures to secure the game and protect the physical integrity, will result in an increase in the number of football game players, even among those with a less athletic constitution.

It will be fine for sport in general to create psychological counseling committees within each national federation, to analyze difficult situations and to provide support to officials and players to find the best solutions for a more balanced game behavior. Which also offers support for selected players of national teams. It would certainly be a step ahead of the decision (with a special budget allocated by FIFA to the national federations) that in every football club to operate a psychological counseling office (for the first divisions) and collaboration with psychotherapists (for lower and youth divisions) during competitions.

4.c • Reducing yellow card offenses – an important lever in players maturity and increased team cohesion

It may seem excessive to supplement the penalty for offenses sanctioned by • yellow card, with two more punitive measures • temporary elimination, and • awarding a „3-2-1” quick game sessions to adverse team.

It is only an apparent tightening of the sanctions, related to the seriousness of the player’s intentional action.

These measures are intended to:
Discourage and drastic diminishing of yellow card offenses,
Increase the effective playing time,
Scoring more goals during a match,

It could be said, that it is not normal for a whole team to suffer for the behavior of a single player. The key element is the individual approach to the correct interaction with the opponent. It is natural for selection to be a team decision. If a player does not meet the required qualifiers (physically, mentally or emotionally), he may be stopped from being part of the game team. For this reason, proposals have been made regarding the implementation of the club psychological counseling system (with the financial support of FIFA).

The fear that players will tackle physical contact with opponents without the same involvement and without fighting with the same ardor, is unjustified. Addressing game relationships from a much mature position, will generate much more consistency and clarity. This will inherently lead to an increase in team play value and a real improvement in player relationships.

Also, the apparent fragmentation of the game by sanctioning with „3-2-1” quick game sessions in the case of yellow cards, as well as the cumulation of individual and team mistakes, will strengthen the measures taken to increase the level of „fair-play”, both during and outside the game.

4.d • „Fair play” and financial interests

The „lottery” of the results due by a missed or incorrectly awarded penalty, may create the premises for a misinterpretation. Those eager to speculate this kind of situation, are those who want to influence the results of the matches.

And, unfortunately, not everyone in this beautiful world of football, defends their chances in a fair way. From players to managers. The sums of money around the various competitions are huge, television rights and advertising creating huge financial prescriptions, not to mention the interests of the world of „sport” bets (incapable of empathizing with the dramas of fans and players, sometimes even destroying promising sport careers).

Sports grounds, where the notion of „fair play” has emerged, should be the place, where to be created the habits of behaving as accurately as possible, to be easily transferred to everyday life. It is more than ever necessary, a different approach to reporting on human values, a recovery and conversion of those of low vibration that put above all, just financial interests.

The proposed changes are an effective way to reinforce a path in the spirit of the current stage of maturing and raising the awareness of human societies.

*

Football gives you the chance to choose to get full maturity. No matter what position you are engaging in this huge world of the round-ball game. Maturity is achieved through a continuous practice of fairness, both in the game and outside the field.

You can have a life as conscious as possible! It depends only on you which way you choose! The joy of the present or the fears of the past and the anxieties of the future?

It’s not about the others. It only matters how much and how you dedicate yourself to your passion. Passion to support it and better fit in this particular universe. Like any other area that makes you feel alive. Choose football!

Section 5 – Final considerations

5.a • Generally valid motivations for diminishing interest in viewing matches…

by the spectator (once passionate)…
A request for feedback among the football fans, it allowed to be find out, the generally valid reasons that made many of us, to watch football only on television and only when the summaries of the goals scored in the strong championships and international competitions are presented (this being in itself a proof of the passion for football, which can be improved to be made more attractive).

The most important highlights, which led to quitting tracking a match altogether, were:
Establishing the winning team through penalty kicks, after a drawned matches (a huge lottery that allows for a high hazard ratio, with a similar level of dissatisfaction for the audience),
The very low number of goal phases and goals scored (basket and handball offer a particularly satisfying performance through the high number of points scored by both teams),
The result of „0-0”, mainly due to the fear of not receiving a goal (in the daily life this behavior would translate into fear of relationships and assuming risks),
The very long time lost with inaccurate attacks, lacking vision and little verticalized construction,
Lack of fairness and „fair play”, evident in multiple game situations (obstruction of the adverse game by „male-game” fouls, systematic game breakage to preserve a favorable result, excessive toughness when a player escapes alone to the goal, unsportsmanlike behavior towards opponents, referee, teammates, coaches and spectator, etc.)

When we sit in front of the TV, we seek to enjoy a show that will give us a sense of satisfaction. No one wants to stand up disappointed at the end of any sporting competition, event or other show.

Decreasing the quality of any type of event is the easiest way to lose viewers. Whether we are „just” admirers of the sporting show, whether we are supporters of the winner team, but especially of the one who will leave the defeated ground … we take the risk, looking forward to taste the sweet cup of victory, what seems to cancel, for a period of time, any disappointment. Until next time…

After several defeats of the favorite team we tend to quit. If, however, the sporting show and the dynamics of the game rise to a higher quality level, who would give up part of the time of pursuing relaxing and comforting soccer matches?

5.b • Bridges for a new start

During the design of the sections of this project, initially centered on providing an alternative solution to the penalty kicks, several aspects have been highlighted which can establish a much stronger link between the „fair play” spirit of sporting competitions and the humanity’s need for leaders and emotionally mature individuals with balanced social relationships.

That is why, proposing the establishment of specialized psychological counseling offices within clubs so that players align with the future requirements of the new regulation, in order to have the correct behavior during matches, does not only serve the sport itself but also helps the emotional development of the players for society and life. To be prepared to deal with maturity, possible traumatic moments:
management of tense moments of play (through in focusing exercises with the purpose of previewing anxiogenic external situations),
overcoming outgoing from sporting form (due to physical or emotional problems),
the need for motivational support to overcome physical barriers due to psycho-emotional limitations,
assimilation of positive habits in order to be prepared to cope with maturity the successful moments (to which an immature ego fails to do),
the ability to be as balanced as possible in situations outside the playing field (from the known sporting position – media appearances, ie the harmonious combination of other life roles – socialization, studies, family, training for a professional field that will follow the sports career, …),
moments when the players becomes uncompetitive due to age or serious injuries,
Coaches’ knowledge – Improving training and player relationships to motivate them to do everything on the ground,

It is obvious that a mature ego will help him face any temptations that can diminish his sporting form. He will also be aware of and will not follow the wrong ways to deal with physical and mental stress. Without questioning the proposals coming from outside or the inner impetus of not defending his chances with fairness. A well-founded and structured system of values leads to increased self-esteem, fairness in the game, relationships with teammates and attitude towards relationships in general. The confidence that he can successfully solve any difficult situation.
